Our Sustainability Promise

We recognise the influence and impact that our business has on the environment and the communities in which we operate. We are committed to sustainability and to minimising our environmental footprint, while enhancing the wellbeing of our guests, employees and local communities. We are supported in this journey by our sustainability accreditation partner, Green Tourism.

Supporting Our Community

At Crowne Plaza Gerrards Cross, we have been proud supporters of Macmillan Cancer Support for many years. Each year, we host their charity ball at subsidised rates and contribute by providing prizes for raffles. Through our annual charity events, we have successfully raised over £100K for Macmillan, helping to fund their vital work!

We are also dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability on our extensive grounds, where we actively maintain and manage the area to support local wildlife, ensuring it remains clean, safe, and a thriving habitat for nature.

Environmental Initiatives

As an IHG hotel, we actively participate in the Green Engage programme, closely monitoring our energy usage and setting annual goals for reduction. We also weigh our food waste, which is converted into fuel, and use the resulting tax rebate to fund improvements in other areas of the hotel.

To maintain transparency and track our progress, we share and upload all our targets and achievements to IHG each month, ensuring continuous improvement in our sustainability efforts.

Our Team

At Crowne Plaza Gerrards Cross, we are committed to creating a safe, healthy and sustainable workplace for all our team members. Our staff actively contribute to minimising our environmental impact through regular sustainability training and the guidance of an on-site Sustainability Champion. We closely monitor business and staff travel, encouraging the use of public transport and car-sharing whenever possible to reduce emissions.

To further enhance our sustainability efforts, we have incorporated EV vehicles into our operations. Additionally, we track energy and activity targets, reporting progress monthly to our head office, ensuring continuous improvement and commitment to our environmental initiatives.

Guest Support

We encourage guests to reduce their environmental impact by offering loyalty points for opting out of room service. We also provide re-use towel signage and opt-out door hangers to promote towel reuse and minimise water usage. Our commitment to sustainability is proudly displayed with our Green Tourism Silver Status plaque in the reception area, highlighting our dedication to eco-friendly practices and environmental responsibility.
